RESIDENT CRAFTS PEOPLE

Leslie Taylor is a Foundryman with over 50 years experience in his field.
He creates ornate castings using skills that have been in use for thousands of years.

Leslie Taylor

With his furnace, Leslie is able to produce items to suit all requirements. From toy soldiers to replacement parts for classic and vintage cars, his particular skills are as relevant today as they ever have been.

Technology has not caught up with the skills that an experienced Foundryman has; for example, computer-controlled aluminium castings require a more impure mix than Leslie would use because it cannot work to the tolerances his expertise allows. Therefore, you will frequently find that his work has a durability and quality finish not found in mass produced items.

Leslie can be found at work in the Arundel Gin Building, surrounded by a range of his work. Projects can be undertaken upon request, and he can be contacted via the Museum on 01798 831370. Please note that due to the nature of Leslie's work he may not be able to answer the phone personally, and may recommend a later time for discussion.
