Polelathe taster course ​​
Learn to use a Polelathe, turning wood with a traditional roughing out and smoothing chisel, making a simple item to take home.

10.00 - 14.30 Course fee £75 per person

Introduction to the Polelathe
Prepare wood for the Polelathe by cleaving and use of the shave horse, turning using different types of chisel, making a simple item to take home such as a garden dibber, spurtle or rolling pin.

09.30 - 16.00 Course fee £85 per person

Make a Rustic Stool in a day
The Polelathe or shave horse will be used to make three legs. Then, using a rustic seat, a stool will be constructed to take home.

Carpentry for beginners
Tutor Andy Heath. Having been shown how to use a plane, saw, chisel and other hand tools, you should be able to produce a simple item to take home.

09.30 - 15.00 Course fee £70 per person

Stone Masonry Lettering course
Tutor Cliff Palmer. Learn the safety and preparation of stone, design and marking out and carving methods before spending most of the course cutting stone with a hammer and chisel.

10.00 - 15.00 Course fee £75 per person
