The Bodger's Camp provides visitors with a wonderful glance into the past.

The camp is a recent addition to the Museum - and a most welcome one too!

Promoting traditional skills

Staffed by volunteers dedicated to promoting traditional wood-working tools and techniques, the camp has been developed in keeping with the skills it portrays, making good use of its location on one of the Museum's nature trails.

It is intended that the camp will become a focal point for old crafts over time, and thereby educate visitors on the need for sustainable woodlands and the protection of the environment. Crafts such as Pole lathe turning, hurdle making, besom broom making and rake making will form the basis for the camp, making good use of the traditional tools sets currently being developed.
