    Springfest Ale Festival
    A showcase of the best of Sussex breweries and real ales (plus a handful of ciders and perries also sourced from Sussex). The festival will be a more intimate affair held in the Limeburners Restaurant with sessions on Friday evening, Saturday daytime (enjoy the Museum's exhibitions and facilities) and evening with appropriate musical accompaniment - details to follow. Drink-up Sunday: After 2.00 pm, card-carrying members of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) will be admitted free of charge and everyone will be able to enjoy the discounted prices (although the choice will be more limited).     A special day of hands on activities including crafts for children. With crafts, pottery and train driving experiences (subject to availability) for the Mums. With our steam trains running this day, and birds of prey displays from Hawking About, there will be lots to entertain the whole family. For this day we will be offering free entry for one Mum with each accompanying paying child (not in conjunction with any other offer).

    Explore science and its history at the Museum. Each day there will be a selection of demonstrations around the Museum, to learn the science behind some of our exhibits. Discover, learn and have fun and follow the science trail around the site.

    A new event for 2017, come and join in the fun on our April fool’s day. With visiting performers, take part in circus activities and learn a new skill (some additional costs may apply).

    Vintage Car Show

    See a wonderful display of vintage cars, telling the story of the history of motoring. 2017 will feature a display of specialist coachwork on the central green. Following the success at the 2016 Autumn Show we intend to feature a planned dispersal to a commentary at the end of the afternoon from 4:15. The Museum is still open until 5:00pm. With our resident steam trains enjoy riding the railway around the site.

    Spring Industrial Trains Day

    The first opportunity this year to see steam, diesel, and petrol locos out and about around the Museum, featuring our eclectic collection of passenger and industrial rolling stock. Also, demonstration runs with the Road Machines contractors’ monorail.

    Exploring the site with activities especially for the Brownies to discover, learn and have fun at the Museum. A chance for pre-booked Brownie Packs to achieve their Science Investigator Badge, along with birds of prey displays from Hawking About for which the Brownie packs will be given their own allocated time to see this demonstration. Also on this day our resident steam trains will be riding the railway around the site, as the Museum is also open to the general public.

    Motorcycle Event

    A fine collection of historic motorcycles on display. Speak with the owners, reminisce and discover at this ever popular event. Providing an enjoyable day for visitors and exhibitors in the picturesque grounds of the Museum. This show aims to celebrate the history of British Motorcycling with Motorcycles up to 1990. This is a real treat for all bike fans. Also on this day our resident steam trains will be riding the railway around the site.

    Military Vehicle and Home Front Event
    A weekend of nostalgia and history to go back in time to the wartime period. Dress up and be part of this great historic event, and on the Sunday take part in the evacuee train. A vintage hairdresser will be on site to finish your look for the day, and music and dances to enjoy. Watch re-enactments, dioramas, military vehicles and enjoy period bus rides. A great day out with so much to see and for the whole family to enjoy. Also enjoy our steam days with our resident steam trains riding the railway around the site.

    Trad Crafts and Local Villages

    Over the May Bank Holiday we have many visiting craftspeople with some demonstrating their skills and techniques. Along with our resident craftspoeple this is a great opportunity to see many traditional crafts from our past. Many stall will be selling their crafts work. Also this weekend will be our Local Villages Weekend, offering a discount for local residents in Sussex, if you live within the following postcodes: PO18, PO19, PO20, PO21, PO22, RH20, GU28, GU29, BN11, BN12, BN13, BN14, BN15, BN16, BN17, BN18, BN44, BN99. To redeem this offer please bring proof of address with you on the day. You will gain entry to visit the Museum at our child rate of £6.00 OR £6.60 with GiftAid ( a saving of £4.35 on our Adult price! )

    Borgward Drivers Club Visit

    Come and see a group of up to 40 Borgward vehicles here at Amberley Museum for part of the day. The club are meeting at Arundel Castle on the 13th and coming down to Amberley Museum on the 14th. The Club formed in 1980 caters for all Borgward vehicles and organises UK and International meetings annually, later this year they plan to do Route 66 in our cars. Borgward owners from the UK and Europe will be bringing their cars and commercial vehicles to Amberley Museum for this years International UK get together. The Bremen Germany based Borgward company ceased trading in 1961 having produced over 200,000 of the most popular model the Isabella between 1954 to 1961 along many other vehicles.

    Kit and Sports Car Visit

    Vehicles will be visiting the Museum as part of the 29th London to Brighton Classic car run, and 17th Kit & Sports car run. The cars will start their day at the historic Brooklands racing circuit, and make their way down to the south coast. Watch the cars arrive on their stop at the Museum, while taking a break some will exhibit their vehicles for the afternoon before continuing on their journey to Brighton. Also enjoy our steam days with our resident steam trains riding the railway around the site.

    CONFIRMED - Date for our Classic Car Summer Show to be held on Sunday 23rd July 2017. Our annual show will bring a wonderful collection of classic vehicles with up to 200 expected to be parked up within the Museum on this day. Some exhibitors dress in period costumes (and public visitors are most welcome to as well!) Also enjoy steam train and vintage bus rides around the site on this day.

    Morgan Sports Car Club Visit
    A visit from 20 classic Morgan Sports Cars at Amberley Museum. "HopMog is the South Eastern Centre of the Morgan Sports Car Club. Our base is the counties of Kent and Surrey. With nearly 500 Morgan Sports Car Club members in our area, we are one of the largest club centres. We are an active group with trips and events arranged for mid-week and weekends and are looking forward to our visit to Amberley."

    Classic Vehicle Group Visit

    Afternoon visit from the Classic Vehicle Group of the former Civil Service Motoring Association, now known as: Boundless by CSMA. The group organisers an annual run in Sussex and Surrey each year, and this year they will be at Amberley on 22 July. Up to 35 classic cars expected arriving in convoy from around 2:00pm.

    Robotslive 29 and 30 July
    NEW FOR 2017, An action packed weekend with robots from Robot Wars. Come and watch the robots battle each other. Book a workshop to lean how to make a small robot. ROBOTSLIVE WORKSHOPS - You will be making an Antweight - These are small servo powered robots (approx. 6inch square) that you design and make from card/plastics. Once assembled they're taken on an obstacle course. You can keep the shells that you make but not the components. Workshops are running 3 times each day lasting an hour and pre-booking is advisable. The workshops do incur an extra cost: - Individuals booking £15, 2 Together £25 and 4 in a group £45.00. Contact the office on office@amberleymuseum.co.uk. Also explore the 36 acre museum which has over 40 exhibits, take a ride on the train and historic buses. Standard admission applies.

    Join us for our 12th annual Ale festival, with local beers, ales and perries, and musical entertainment throughout the day and evenings. The event is pre-booked tickets only for the evening sessions on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd. The Museum is open as usual from 10am to 5pm on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday daytimes, with drink up day on the Sunday. (Evenings are not included in the annual membership)
