Amberley Working Museum is an independent museum & registered charity.
It is an independent charity that does not receive any core funding from County or local authorities and depends upon gate receipts, restaurant and gift shop for its working revenue.
It is therefore incumbent upon the Museum to seek outside funding for a number of essential needs - employment of key personnel, construction of new buildings to house exhibits awaiting restoration and refurbishment of existing buildings/exhibits which would otherwise be left to deteriorate.

Fundraising for the future

The importance of this issue cannot be overstated; at Amberley, a dedicated Fundraising department exists to ensure that the Museum can make the very best of any available funds to support its curatorial and educational remit.

The work of this department, has in recent years, been most successful in helping to staff the Museum, develop new exhibition space and help Amberley reach some key long term objectives. Details of these successes can be found by looking at Fundraising Achievements, accessible by clicking on the menu to the left. To assist with our efforts, click on Help with Fundraising.
