Planning your school visit
DID YOU KNOW? 1 in 5 schools in and around the South Downs National Park is eligible to apply for a travel grant of up to £300 to visit Amberley Museum. To find out more, click here.
All school groups can make use of our undercover lunch spaces and gift shop, and take a ride on our narrow-gauge railway. Please note, due to COVID-19 restrictions, our on-site shuttle bus is not currently running.
Our ample, free car/coach parking and position adjacent to Amberley mainline train station makes us a practical choice for a fuss-free day out.
Due to the historical nature of some of our exhibits and spaces, not all areas of the site are wheelchair accessible. If there are any accessibility needs within your group, please let us know so we can advise you further.
For further information on how to book, see the ‘Booking & Prices’ tab or email education@amberleymuseum.co.uk.
OTHER GROUPS
Amberley Museum is a large, mostly open-air site with plenty of space to explore at a safe distance from other visitors, as well as a dedicated lunch/bag storage space. We have been awarded Visit England’s ‘Good To Go’ standard for our COVID-19 precautions.
Our inspiring natural setting, varied working exhibits and volunteer welcome make us a popular choice among further education colleges, universities, language schools, uniformed and home-schooling groups.
We can offer you a bespoke visit relating to your area of choice, involving talks, demonstrations and often hands-on experiences, depending on your numbers and their effect on our necessary COVID-19 precautions.
We are also keen to offer work experience and volunteering opportunities to young people who wish to build up their skills, whether in heritage crafts and trades or in the museum sector.
To discuss what we could do for you, please contact us at education@amberleymuseum.co.uk.
