CYCLE REVOLUTION

KS2/KS3

Discover the important role of the humble bicycle in recent social history and in your own life.

In this workshop you will handle bicycle components (including gears, wheels and lamps) at our early 20th-century repair shop, explore our collection of historic bicycles and learn about cycling’s contribution to women’s emancipation thanks to figures such as Millicent Fawcett.

Free visit extension materials available.

Curriculum links: History, Design & Technology, PSHE/Citizenship, Science. An ideal complement to Bikeability.

Duration: 45 to 60 minutes
