AMBERLEY GREEN WEEK

29th-30th May & 3rd-6th June

This May half term, we are celebrating World Environment Day (5th June) by holding ‘Amberley Green Week’. This week will involve a fun family trail, hands-on arts and crafts activities, all with an environmental theme. We celebrate the Museum reopening, in the height of spring and the opening of our refurbished Nature Trails – which will be in full leaf!

We are encouraging and inspiring our visitors to ‘Think Global, Act Local’, to take steps to interact more with nature and reduce their impact on the planet.

World Environment Day (5th June) will be the highlight of the week, showcasing several local, mostly community-led organisations working to make West Sussex a more environmentally friendly place. There will be trade stalls, demonstrations, performances and a number of fun activities for families and all ages.

What can visitors see and do at this event?

Explore Amberley’s new Nature Trails, including breath-taking views from the top of the South Downs across the Arun Valley.

Explore our collections, guided by a fun family trail with a green theme, take part in hands-on art and craft activities and contribute to a community artwork called ‘Pledge for the Planet’.

World Environment Day:

Talk and ask questions to local people involved in environmental initiatives and find out about how to make a difference by exploring stalls and installations around the Museum.

Organisations taking part include:

Sussex Green Living
UK Harvest
Brighton Energy Cooperative
Chichester Conservation Volunteers
Zero Waste Shop
Action in Rural Sussex – The Lost Woods Project
WSCC Road Safety – Cycle Development
