Introduction to the polelathe

The course will cover how to use tools safely, preparing the wood using a traditional style shave horse and draw knife, turning techniques using traditional style chisels, and practice under tuition to make a useful item, such as a garden dibber, spurtle or rolling pin.

With Colin Wells, aka the ‘Amberley Bodger’. He is a qualified adult education provider and has worked for Brinsbury College, near Chichester and Northbrook College in Worthing. He is also a registered tutor with the South Downs National Parks Authority.

This course must be pre-booked. Tea and coffee are provided and lunch can be bought in the Limeburners Café on-site, or bring a packed lunch.
