Summer Holiday Activities
22 July – 31 August 2023
Celebrate the re-opening of our Cycle Exhibition with our family-friendly Cycling Thursdays!
Every open day throughout the Summer use our ‘Cyclosearch’ trail!
Spot important (and surprising!) features of two-wheeled transport through the ages, have a go at cycle-themed crafts and see bikes being repaired at our 1920s-era Village Garage.
Every Thursday throughout August, 11am-3pm: Family activities in the Base.
These are themed around bikes and wheels: cycle safety colouring sheets, building Lego vehicles, making Spirograph designs. The room is usually overseen by a Learning volunteer but parental supervision is required at all times.
Every Friday throughout August:
The Woodturners will be ready to make small items with children, for a small additional charge.
‘Play with Clay’ Saturday 22 July to Thursday 31 August
Nancy Scantlebury-Thompson our resident potter in the pottery will be offering “play with clay” with a monster theme, on a continuous drop-in basis.
She will make some examples, which will spark children’s imaginations, as the rest of the activity will be self-led. There will be the usual £2 per head charge.
For more cycle-themed fun, check out our Retro Wheels Weekend, Saturday 5 & 6 August.
